Last Week: 3-12-1
Overall Record: 3-12-1

New York Jets (1-0) AT New England Patriots (1-0)

The Spread: Patriots by 12
The Pick:  Jets
The Score: Patriots, 27-17
The Rationale: New England still has some injuries offensively that will hamper them. Meanwhile, Geno Smith proved last week that he could put up some offensive numbers in the NFL at a young age. The Jets won’t win this game. But, they’ll hang around for awhile.

San Diego Chargers (1-0) AT Philadelphia Eagles (1-0)

The Spread: Eagles by 9
The Pick: Chargers
The Score: Eagles, 35-28
The Rationale: Chip Kelly’s offense proved last week that it is still as dynamic as they come. The Eagles should be able to put up plenty of points against a Chargers team that has not proven much defensively. However, can they keep the big lead in the second half?

St. Louis Rams (1-0) AT Atlanta Falcons (0-1)

The Spread: Falcons by 7
The Pick: Falcons
The Score: Falcons, 23-17
The Rationale: The Falcons’ offense was stymied a bit by New Orleans’ pass rush last week. The Rams create an even bigger problem, as Robert Quinn and Chris Long are two of the finest in the league. The Falcons should take this one. But, it will be close.

Carolina Panthers (0-1) AT Buffalo Bills (0-1)

The Spread: Panthers by 3
The Pick: Panthers
The Score: Panthers, 24-17
The Rationale: The Bills had a golden opportunity in week one to defeat New England. But, in typical Buffalo fashion, let it slip right through their fingers. The Panthers, meanwhile, were shut down offensively by Seattle. Something tells me that Cam Newton is not going to let it happen two weeks in a row.

Minnesota Vikings (0-1) AT Chicago Bears (1-0)

The Spread: Bears by 7
The Pick: Minnesota
The Score: Chicago, 20-17
The Rationale: A matchup of two stout defenses will leave both quarterbacks with headaches come Monday.

Washington Redskins (0-1) AT Green Bay Packers (0-1)

The Spread: Packers by 9
The Pick: Packers
The Score: Packers, 34-24
The Rationale: The Redskins will be reevaluating their defense after another 30+ point showing against them by Aaron Rodgers and the Pack Attack.

Miami Dolphins (1-0) AT Indianapolis Colts (1-0)

The Spread: Colts by 3
The Pick: Dolphins
The Score: Dolphins, 26-23
The Rationale: My upset pick of the week. The Dolphins’ defense looked phenomenal against Brandon Weeden and the Browns last Sunday. Granted, it is Weeden and the Browns. But, the Colts weren’t exactly looking like Super Bowl contenders when they nearly let the Raiders and Terrelle Pryor knock them off at home.

Dallas Cowboys (1-0) AT Kansas City Chiefs (1-0)

The Spread: Chiefs by 3
The Pick: Cowboys
The Score: Cowboys, 24-21
The Rationale: This game could go to overtime. The Chiefs and Cowboys both have strong defenses. It’s a question of offensive consistency that will determine how far these two teams go in 2013.

Cleveland Browns (0-1) AT Baltimore Ravens (0-1)

The Spread: Ravens by 7
The Pick: Ravens
The Score: Ravens, 36-13
The Rationale: I’d hate to be Brandon Weeden come Monday. His leash is getting shorter by the week.

Tennessee Titans (1-0) AT Houston Texans (1-0)

The Spread: Texans by 11
The Pick: Titans
The Score: Texans, 20-14
The Rationale: The Titans have one of the better defenses in the AFC and people don’t even realize it. This team absolutely shut down Pittsburgh last week. I doubt they have as much success against Houston. But, they should be good enough to cover the astronomical 11 point spread.

Detroit Lions (1-0) AT Arizona Cardinals (0-1)

The Spread: Lions by 2
The Pick: Lions
The Score: Lions, 23-17
The Rationale: Detroit proved that they have some serious offensive weapons last week. With Calvin Johnson, Reggie Bush, Joique Bell, and more; Detroit dwarfs most opponents on the offensive side of the ball. Arizona, meanwhile, blew a huge lead over St. Louis and lost. Don’t expect the Cardinals to make a quick turnaround in week 2.

New Orleans Saints (1-0) AT Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-1)

The Spread: Saints by 4
The Pick: Saints
The Score: Saints, 33-24
The Rationale: Revis Island vs. Drew Brees will turn into Darren Sproles’ career day.

Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) AT Oakland Raiders (1-0)

The Spread: Raiders by 6
The Pick: Jaguars
The Score: Raiders, 10-7
The Rationale: Just a brutal game. The fact that the Raiders are favored by 6 is solely due to the quarterbacks, as Terrelle Pryor looked like less of a turd in week one than Blaine Gabbert.

Denver Broncos (1-0) AT New York Giants (0-1)

The Spread: Broncos by 5
The Pick: Broncos
The Score: Broncos, 35-21
The Rationale: The Giants can turn the ball over nearly as much as they did against Dallas if they hope to survive this week. They won’t. But, they still will find keeping up with Peyton to be too tall of a task.

San Francisco 49ers (1-0) AT Seattle Seahawks (1-0)

The Spread: Seahawks by 3
The Pick: Seahawks
The Score: Seahawks, 20-10
The Rationale: Seattle won last year at home by 29 points. I don’t think this early season matchup will be as one-sided. But, it will still be Seattle coming out on top at home.

Pittsburgh Steelers (0-1) AT Cincinnati Bengals (0-1)

The Spread: Bengals by 8
The Pick: Bengals
The Score: Bengals, 28-17
The Rationale: Pittsburgh is in a world of hurt right now offensively. With Pouncey out, they lose the heart and soul of their offensive line. Cincinnati will have to win to avoid a catastrophic 0-2 start in their most celebrated season since the 80s.
